Thank you for visiting our website. I have always run my law practice dedicated to the philosophy that “every client’s case is the most important case at our firm”. It seems like yesterday when I opened my law practice but it has now been twenty-nine years helping people who have been injured by someone’s carelessness. Before entering law school I worked in a variety of jobs from waiting tables and bartending to pay my way through the University of Texas, working in a fabricating plant, welding oil rigs, working on a ship in the Bering sea, doing sub bottom profiles for oil companies, owner of a shoe store, selling industrial supplies to industry and most importantly spending five years in business with my father and mother in Shreveport, Louisiana. At age of twenty-eight I made the decision to go to law school.

I enrolled in the Oklahoma City University School of Law where I graduated in 1987 with honors. As a first year law student I had the honor of being hired as a law clerk for the Honorable Chief Justice of the Oklahoma Supreme Court. I also was hired to be part of the plaintiffs’ trial team as a research and briefing clerk on one of the first law suits against a tobacco company. I won my first trial during my second year of law school when I represented my family’s business against a customer that said we defrauded him. After graduation, I moved back to East Texas and spent three years working for an insurance defense firm. It did not take long to realize that the insurance companies did not really care about innocent people that were injured or killed by the people they insured. It was all about their bottom line profits. Yes, I quit and opened my own firm in Longview, Texas and dedicated my practice to the representation of injured people against the giant insurance companies.

In 1997, my wife Robin and I relocated our family to Cypress, Texas. I then spent ten years working as “of Counsel” for several Houston area personal injury law firms in the capacity of lead trial counsel. During this period I was part of trial team that represented women who had suffered heart damage due to the use of the diet drug “Phen Fen”. Our group represented over 3,000 clients who suffered injury due to the undisclosed dangers of this drug.

In 2004, I decided to open a new firm, Norris & Cantu, LLP. There I continued representing plaintiffs and expanded the law practice to include representing families that had suffered severe injuries and deaths due to defective tires, defectively designed vehicles and other defective product cases. This expanded our practice to not only in Texas but nationwide including Kentucky, California, New Mexico, Arizona, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Iowa, Tennessee, Colorado and Pennsylvania.

I have been honored to be elected into the Million Dollar and Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum. This forum is recognized as a group of the most experienced group of trial lawyers in the United States. Less than 1% of attorneys in the United States are members.

In 2015, I made the decision to open a new firm closer to our home in Cypress. The Steven Norris Law Firm, PC. I continue to represent all who have had their life changed due to negligence and carelessness of others. My firm continues to represent clients nationwide and also in Houston, Cypress, Spring, Tomball, Hempstead, Magnolia and all parts of Texas.

It would be my honor to represent you and I can always be reached on my cell phone (281) 513-2007.
